 New Delhi 34 minutes ago

Things are getting worse day by day with Corona in Delhi.  Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding to reserve 7000 beds for patients.  In the letter, he has also asked to provide oxygen immediately.

Earlier on Sunday, Kejriwal told a press conference that in the last 24 hours, about 25 thousand cases of Corona have come in Delhi.  It is a matter of concern that in the last 24 hours, the positivity rate has increased from 26% to around 30%.

He said that Corona's beds are rapidly dying out.  There is a shortage of ICU beds.  There are less than 100 ICU beds left in the whole of Delhi.  There is a lack of oxygen.  We are constantly in touch with the central government and we are also getting help.

More than 6,000 oxygen beds will be prepared in next 2-3 days: Kejriwal

Kejriwal said that yesterday I spoke to Dr. Harsh Vardhan, I told him that we need beds and oxygen very much.  Talked to Amit Shah today, I also told him about the situation.  There are 10,000 beds in central government hospitals in Delhi, out of which 1800 beds are reserved for Corona.

He said that we are requesting the Central Government that in such a critical situation at least 7,000 beds should be reserved for Corona and oxygen should be supplied immediately.  The Delhi government will prepare more than 6,000 oxygen beds in the next 2-3 days.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Sunday that the corona virus is spreading rapidly in Delhi.

Demand to provide beds in two railway stations

The Delhi government has appealed to the railways to arrange corona beds at Anand Vihar and Shakur Basti railway stations.  He said that when Corona was on peak last year, the Railways had arranged 5,000 Corona beds in Delhi.  Similarly, they should make this arrangement this year as well.  They should also have oxygen support, medical staff and oxygen arrangements.

167 people died in last 24 hours

Kejriwal said that 19 hours 500 cases of Corona had come 48 hours ago.  Within the last 24 hours, 24 thousand 500 new cases have come.  These figures show how fast the corona virus is growing in Delhi.  He said that we are arranging high flow oxygen in many hospitals.  Apart from Radha Swami Satsang, Yamuna Sports Complex, Common Wealth Game, arrangements are also being made in schools.  In the last 24 hours 167 people have died from Corona in Delhi.  This is the highest in the figures so far.
