Bajaj Chetak EV price hiked by up to Rs 28,000


Bajaj has once again raised the prices of its Chetak electric scooter. Now, to buy this scooter, 28,000 rupees more will have to be spent. Bajaj has launched it in premium and urban variants. Within a month, the price of urban variant has been increased by Rs 27,620 and premium variant by Rs 24,620. Let us know that the company had increased its prices by Rs 5,000 a month ago.

Range up to 95 km

  • Chetak will get the same 3 kWh lithium-ion battery as before, which is connected to the 3.8 kW electric motor. It generates maximum power of 5.5 PS. The maximum range is 95 km in Eco mode and 85 km in Sport mode.
  • It takes about 5 hours for the battery to be charged up to 100% via a 5 Amp outlet. The company offers a 3-year or 50,000 km warranty on the battery, and the electricals are rated IP67.

Equipped with many advanced features

  • The scooter also gets regenerative braking with all-LED lights (headlamps, DRLS, turn indicators, taillights), front disc brakes and a digital instrument cluster (with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth).
  • The Chetak gets 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends, 90/90 tires at the front and 90/100 tires at the rear (both tubeless). The front-wheel gets a leading-link-type suspension, while the rear wheel gets a monoshock suspension. A reverse gear is also available in the scooter.

Bajaj Chetak Electric competes with the Athar 450 Plus and Athar 450 X in the Indian market. The prices of both these scooters are Rs 1.40 lakh and Rs 1.59 lakh respectively. At the same time, TVS's iCube is also a new option for electric scooters. Its price is 1.36 lakh rupees.
